Take your own towels (or queue up to rent some!)

Lesley

On the Pierre et Vacance website, there is no mention of towels in the general description:

Prices in euros per unit per stay including : accommodation, sheets, 1 pillowcase per person per week, 1 dishcloth per apartment, end of stay cleaning (except for kitchen area and washing-up). According to our general and specific conditions of sale, they do not include a supplementary administrative charge of 15 euros per booking. Local taxes to be paid on site by client.

Deposit : € 200 per apartment (cheque or bank card) paid on arrival and refunded upon departure.

Arrival / Departure : Single-week stay : arrivals after 5 p.m., departures before 10 a.m. ; Short stay : arrivals after 2 p.m., departures before noon.

so I assume that they are not included.

In the extras section:

BATHROOM LINEN - €8 (£5) PER PERSON PER WEEK
Bathroom linen Kit includes:
- 1 hand towel per person
- 1 bath towel per person
- 1 bathmat per apartment

Taxes appear to be 1 Euro per day

Tourist tax (Adults and children over 13): €1.00 / day / person

Steve has been skiing!

See below an email I received from Steve on 11 Jan 2008. Is this fair? Should it be allowed? Should Steve be made to make all of our beds when we arrive "in resort" as he won't need to get his ski legs back?

Hi, In Sweden this week - managed to get a couple of hours evening skiing with colleagues at the local small slope

First Time Blog

Here is my first blog entry - EVER! It all started when I noticed a "Send to Blog" link on the right click menu within IE7. I guess it's the google toolbar and associated baggage that has put it there, but there it is and clicked it I did and here I am...

The idea here was to string together all the research for the annual skiing trips, with a side-line of finding out whether blogging is worth it or not!

Which Ski Pass to buy?

Are you going for the full Grand Massif ski pass? I was going to order ours online and have it delivered to the UK, but just wanted a sanity check from someone else before I part with so much money! The options are here

From the Flaine Super Ski Foret shop which appears to be just a few 100m down the road from the Pierre et Vacances Foret appartments.

Price Comparison (for 7 days)

Rossignol Bandit B83
ROSSIGNOL Bandit 83 BMP TPI_ at SkiSet are Platinum skis and are €142.50

(I don't know if the BMP TPI_ bit is significant!
